What better way to get fresh air and exercise during the winter months than going cross-country skiing or snowshoeing. Believe it or not, Southern Oregon is home to some of the most beautiful, wintery wonderlands for just such an activity. With locations such as Crater Lake, yielding 9 different trails, available for both skiing or snowshoeing and for more adventurous types, a thirty-three mile circuit of the entire lake! Also nearby is Diamond Lake, which offers 12.4 miles of groomed trails, great for skiing and snowshoeing. Diamond Lake also offers a resort and great places for tubing as well as seasonal ice-skating. Mt. Ashland, bearing fifteen miles of ungroomed trails, is also another popular spot, meeting your winter recreational needs. There are several other nearby locations for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, including the Lollipop Loops near Fish Lake and Summit Sow Park. Generally speaking, most people do not own snowshoes or cross-country skis, but have no fear; there is a solution! Ashland, Oregon is home to two great stores for either renting or purchasing cross-country skis and poles as well as snowshoes and any other equipment you may need.
Ashland Mountain Supply rents both snowshoes and cross-country skiing equipment for very affordable prices.

Ashland Mountain Supply also offers a Mid-week Special, due to the closing of the store on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, if equipment is rented Monday evening, the renter my keep the equipment until Thursday for the price of only 24 hours!
