Applegate Valley Wine Tour

The Applegate Valley Wine Trail is one of the newest additions to the Southern Oregon wine industry and contains some of the best wine boutiques in Southern Oregon. The trail expands over 40 miles, beginning near Grants Pass, winding through the Murphy and Applegate communities, and ending in historic Jacksonville.

The Applegate Valley region is different from most places in Oregon because of its warmer, drier growing seasons. Combine these with the area’s higher elevations, and you have the perfect conditions for growing Chardonnay, Syrah, and Bordeaux varieties. All visitors are in for a wonderful treat; many of the available wines can only be tasted at the wineries themselves or are in limited distribution.

To best experience the beautiful mountain scenery, set aside a day with family and/or friends and take the tour sometime during Spring or Summer. For a romantic weekend getaway, there are various lodges, bed-and-breakfast inns, and restaurants available along the trail as well.

For a list of the available wineries and their operating hours, visit here or download the Applegate Wine Trail map here.
