One picture started it all! Actually many visits and numerous photos from my iPhone is what started this hot new craze to meet with locals at southern Oregon’s hot spot 38 Central located in downtown Medford.
This is how it all began. After moving back to Oregon from southern California I was looking for a nice place to take my wife in Medford. For many locals that sounds like an impossible task, but I challenge you to drive downtown and open your eyes and look around. There is an abundance of new restaurants that serve amazing food at a reasonable price. As we were driving on Central Avenue the beautifully striped awnings and small tables in front of 38 Central caught our eye. Let’s go there I said!
As we walked in we were greeted by the owner David and escorted to a nice table upstairs over looking the beautiful restaurant inside. My wife ordered a mojito and I the usual budget drink a Pepsi. When David returned with our drinks my wife kindly shared here mojito with me and I was hooked! I have had many mojitos before but none like this!
Soon thereafter I returned and ordered my own mojito, then again and again each time photographing my favorite drink with my iPhone and posting them on Twitter. Each time I posted my image I would receive over 30 views! Soon people began asking me when I would invite them! Like anyone needs my permission to go to 38 Central for a mojito! A few Tweets later between a few friends Mojito Thursday was born!
So join us this Thursday 3/11/2010 for the next Mojito Thursday! Starts at 6pm and goes until whenever!

Hey! That was here and that was us! We do enjoy crafting a good drink, and a Mojito is as fine a use of fresh mint and lime as can be had…
Thanks for becoming one of our “regulars” ~ it is so cool that Medford has its own Tweeting population, and 541 Live is a great resource to know what is hot and where the action is!
Keep it up ~ see you next Mojito Madness!!
A mojito sounds really nice about now. I will be there next Thursday for sure. Its been a while sense I have had a good mojito.
